I started a religion called The Divine Assembly (TDA) with one tenet: each individual can commune with the Divine and receive personal guidance. Pretty simple.

I love that TDA marries individual autonomy and divine connection. As a biologist, I get tingly thinking about the religious diversity that such spiritual outbreeding could produce.

The single tenet of TDA is the entirety of my religion. One broad stroke. To commune with God (the essence of religion) I do not need external dogma, institutional hierarchy, or the accoutrements of legacy religion, all of which now repel more people than they attract.

To commune, I simply attune myself to the Divine.

How? I was born with a divine tuning fork inside my heart.

Think of the sympathetic strings of a sitar. They sit below the struck strings and sing out, resonating, when the vibration above matches.

Because I am part of the Divine, my soul is perfectly tuned to the song of the Divine. In every instance, in every thought and action, in every breath and word, I seek resonance with my authentic and perfect soul, adding our Gloria in excelsis Deo to a choir of angels worshipping the Divine.
